Frequently Asked Questions

1. What makes your Surfcheck Hoodies water-resistant?

Our hoodies are made from a specially woven fabric and treated with a durable water repellent (DWR) finish. This technology causes water to bead up and roll off the fabric, keeping you dry in light rain and spray.

2. Are these hoodies suitable for use in the water?

While our water repellent hoodie is highly water-resistant and can handle splashes, it is not designed to be worn for extended periods of time while fully submerged in the water. They are best for wearing before and after a surf session.

3. How should I care for my surfing hoodie?

To maintain the water-resistant properties, we recommend washing your hoodie in cold water on a gentle cycle and hanging it to dry. Avoid using fabric softeners, as they can break down the DWR finish.

4. Are these hoodies a good option for cold weather?

Yes, our warmest hoodie for winter is designed with a cozy fleece lining and insulated construction to provide excellent warmth and comfort, making it a perfect layer for chilly days.

5. What is the difference between a water-resistant and a waterproof hoodie?

A water resistant hoodie can resist water penetration to some degree, but is not fully sealed. A fully water proof hoodie would have sealed seams and a membrane to prevent water from getting in. Our hoodies are highly water-resistant, ideal for most coastal conditions.
